The National Museum of Mexican Art invites you to Día de los Muertos Xicágo on Sunday, October 28th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Join us as we celebrate Día de los Muertos and transform the Museum and surrounding outdoor area into a beautiful space to remember our departed loved ones. On this special day, guests will enjoy ofrenda (altar) demonstrations, live musical performances, face painting, art activities, and Pan de Muerto (traditional Day of the Dead Bread).
Families and individuals are invited to create their own ofrendas (altars) in Harrison Park, transforming the soccer field into a festive community gathering place. To learn more about how to create your own ofrenda at Día de los Muertos Xicágo click here.
Guests can also participate in the festivities by sharing a photograph of a departed loved one to be incorporated into a large illuminated ofrenda projected on to the Museum’s exterior. The deadline to submit a photograph is October 15th. Upload your photo here.
This event is free and open to the public and will take place rain or shine.
